We left Tye RV Park Friday for a short trip to Brady, Texas and the Brady Lake Reservoir. There, we are meeting our friends Jim and Betty from San Marcos, Texas. They had just purchased a used 2008 Tiffin Phaeton and wanted to pick our brains about their motorhome since we own a 2009 Tiffin Phaeton.
We both arrived at Brady Lake within about 5 minutes of each other. What great timing!
After setting up, we hopped in Jim and Betty’s Jeep and drove into downtown Brady. They have a very nice courthouse.
They have a pretty downtown, but it seems like most of the businesses are out of business except Everidges. Everidges downtown store seems to have about everything you could ever need and many more items that you don’t need. :)
Here is a cool streetlight out in front of Everidges.
How about a little yard art?
They have a 1950’s era kitchen on display.
They have tons of furniture, bedroom sets, dining rooms, etc. I really liked this rustic bedroom.
…..
Nice sofa!
They have a huge spiral staircase leading upstairs.
A huge stained glass dome above the spiral staircase.
How about some armor?
A cool end table for my buddies Manuel and Ralph.
How about a close-up? She sure can balance the tabletop!!! :)
A mural on the side of the building.
Bronze dog on a piece of granite.
Sue, Betty and Wooden Indian saluting their boss, ME!!! Ha! Ha!
I saw this building downtown and took this picture, I then had to look up info on its meaning. Curtis Field.
We returned back to the campground at Brady Lake and I got a photo of our rigs.
They have a boat ramp and a floating boat dock, unfortunately the lake is down so far in water level that the floating boat dock is sitting on dry ground!
They have this fishing dock on the lake that is run by the City of Brady, for a small fee you can fish from it.
The inside of the fishing dock.
A propane heating system for the fishing dock.
One successful fisherman.
A couple views of the lake from the end of the fishing dock.
…..
A couple deer on the land across from the fishing dock.
A large goose.
A little marina next to the fishing dock.
A nesting duck in a small structure built just for it.
A beautiful sunset over Brady Lake.
We returned back to Tye, Texas on Sunday.
Until next time!
