We finished all of our claims in Pennsylvania on September 30th. So on October 1st we headed toward Chicago. I have a cousin, Billy, that lives in Crown Point, Indiana and I haven’t seen him in about 7 years. There aren’t too many cousins that I know on my dad’s side of the family, but he is one of them. We made the trip to Crown Point in one day (don’t like doing that), but I wanted to spend some time with him before he went back to work on Monday. Billy is a member of the Gary Sports Club (Gary, Indiana) and we spent Sunday afternoon watching about 6 different tvs and 6 different games, while drinking Bloody Marys! They have a large parking lot at the sports club and they allowed us to park the motorhome there. So we boondocked for a couple nights there while enjoying my cousin and his wife’s company. It was his wife’s birthday Sunday, so Billy grilled some steaks and we had a great time visiting. Sorry no photos, I tend to forgot to take pictures sometimes.
We left Monday morning and headed toward our friends, Mike and Judy, in Arkansas. The morning was kind of misty and we had to wait for this parade to cross the road.
We also saw a contractor redoing a basement with the house suspended behind it. Never seen anything like this before.
We arrived in Arkansas on Wednesday and parked next to Mike and Judy’s 5th wheel on their lot near Greer’s Ferry.
We stayed here for about 3 nights. One of the days we took a day trip to Mountain View, Arkansas, which is famous for bluegrass players picking and singing around the town square. Of course, this only happens on the weekends so we missed the excitement.
Here is the court house where the bluegrass players hang out.
One day we made a day trip into Little Rock and we visited the Wild Life Museum. The museum is next to the Clinton Museum Store.
They had some great displays at the Wildlife museum.

We then went over to the Heifer Village which is part of Heifer International. They had some really good displays on what they are doing to end world hunger.
We arrived back in Lake Charles about a week ago and we are staying at my brother’s house. He has a 30 amp full hookup for us and a concrete slab! Thanks Danny!
On another note, I still have shortness of breath. The stent they put in my heart back on August 15th has helped, but it did not get rid of all the breathing problems. The preliminary diagnosis is that I have diffuse interstitial lung disease. This is kind of broad since there are about 180 diseases that fall under that umbrella. I have appointments to see how bad it is and what caused it. According to the internet it could come from medications I have been taking for my cholesterol or blood pressure or it could be environmental. There is no cure, but there are some treatments and breathing exercises that may help. I can still go and do what I have always been able to do, I just run out of breath sooner! My follow up appointment with the cardiologists is tomorrow, so we will see what happens there.
On Tuesday, I plan to change out my RV refrigerator with a residential refrigerator I bought at Lowes. I have a friend that changed out his by himself, so I thought I would try it myself. The existing refrigerator is running fine, but I am tired of worrying about it catching on fire (I have had all the recalls done) and Sue would like the more storage that the residential refrigerator will give her. I will be taking pictures of the install and will be posting them here and on Phaeton modifications page on my website.
Until next time!
