I can’t believe its been a month since I last posted. Shame on me!!! But it seems when we get back to our home town my posting suffers. I guess I was a little more busier than usual with some of my projects.
One big project was to replace the existing Xantrex 2000 watt modified sine wave inverter with a Magnum 2800 watt pure sine wave inverter. The reason for changing out the inverter was I needed to extra wattage to insure that the new residential refrigerator I installed would be able to start and run with all the other items the inverter currently supports. I also needed a pure sine wave inverter to insure that my new refrigerator did not have any problems that my have come from running it on a modified sine wave inverter. I will be updating my Phaeton modification pages with the inverter conversion real soon.
We had some friends come by and visit while we were staying out at my brother’s house in the last few weeks. Roger and Donna were on their way back from Biloxi, MS and headed to Houston and stopped for a visit. Roger is an insurance adjuster that got us interested in doing that kind of work. They are also members of our Lone Star Allegro Club. Roger has been working doing BP claims for the last year and a half in Biloxi and he said they were sure glad to be finished, because staying in one spot for that long was something they had never done! Sue cooked some shrimp etouffee for them and they loved it. We had a great visit and they will be joining us up in Cut N Shoot, Texas the beginning of December for a couple weeks. Thanks Roger and Donna for stopping by!!!
Our friends Ann and Dan also stopped and stayed a couple days at a new RV Park in north Lake Charles. Ann and Dan are insurance adjusters too and we worked with them in northern Alabama and Pennsylvania this year. We went out to eat a couple times and had a great time visiting. Thanks Ann and Dan for stopping by!!
We have also spent time visiting our kids, grand kids and cousins in the area. Going out to eat with them more times than we should!
I also sold our old Norcold RV refrigerator to a couple from Mississippi that had theirs quit in their Fleetwood Bounder. I was glad to sell it, because I didn’t like the idea of it sitting around my brother’s house cluttering up his place. Now all I have to do is sell my old Xantrex inverter.
We left Lake Charles yesterday and headed to Groves, Texas where our daughter lives. We found a RV spot at the bottom of the Rainbow bridge where you go from Bridge City, Texas to Groves, Texas. It is at marina and not much, but we have a view of the bridge and the boats at the marina. View out the front window.
View out the back. It looks prettier at night when the refinery is all lit up!
We will be leaving here in the morning (Monday) and head to Country Place RV park in Cut N Shoot, Texas. We have a couple RV club rallies we will be attending at this park over the next three weeks. Also Sue needs to take some time off from taking care of her mom and dad and do some painting. Her painting seems to relax her and she needs to have some relaxing down time for herself.
On a little not about my health, my pulmonologist said I definitely had pulmonary fibrosis. After much discussion with the doctor we decided that my acid reflux was the cause of the pulmonary fibrosis. I have been taking Nexium for the last ten years which has helped tremendously, but apparently it wasn’t enough to keep fluid and other particles from entering my lungs. I will be figuring out a way to lift the head of my bed up 4 inches to make sure that no fluids continue to migrate where they don’t belong! I will also be consulting with a gastro doctor to see if I am a candidate for acid reflux surgery. I am feeling better since I got rid of the infection in my lungs, so I seem to function better ( not run out of breath as fast). The doctor also put me Prednisone a steroid anti-inflammatory medicine which seems to help, but of course I can’t stay on that since it is a steroid. He will be evaluating me in a month I guess to see if it helped. So we will be back in Lake Charles in about three weeks for those doctor appointments.
We still plan to head to Quartzsite, Arizona in January with some our friends and spend a few months out there.
Until next time!
