I left Lake Charles on Tuesday, August 28th to beat the rain and wind that is expected to hit Lake Charles from Hurricane Isaac and drove to Gulf Coast RV in Beaumont, Tx. Our friends Mike and Charlene were there for a few days so we visited Tuesday evening. Wednesday, Sue drove over and met us and we went out to eat with Mike and Charlene at a good Mexican Restaurant in Beaumont. Sorry forgot to take pictures!
We left Beaumont on Thursday morning and drove to Colorado Landing RV park in LaGrange, Tx to meet with our Camping Friends RV Club. We had 6 rigs arrive on Thursday. Friday the other 6 rigs arrived and we all went out to dinner at Back Porch BBQ and it was pretty good BBQ.
One of the members of Camping Friends, Jodi, has a client that has a great car collection near LaGrange. Jodi and her husband Gregg led us out to the property to see the cars. Now I took a lot of pictures of the cars, but I won’t bore you with all of them.
Here are a few:
Great Stake Bed Truck
Oh, he did this cool looing Indian motorcycle.
Sue and our next tow car – Rolls Royce –….. Just kidding!
Flat – head Ford
Close – up
There were a lot of corvettes and mustangs in his collection and he had some corvettes on display at a couple other places in Texas also.
We stayed in LaGrange until the Tuesday after Labor Day and drove back to Lake Charles. We will be here until around the 26th and then we will be driving up to Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We will be attending a TRVN rally which is made up of Tiffin motorhomes. This will be the second or third rally with these folks and we have always had a great time.
Until next time!
