Monday - That is moving up in elevation! We left this morning from Elk Meadow RV and Lodge in Estes Park, Co. and headed the 5 or 6 miles down Hwy 36 to the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park. It is a Passport America park, so we got half price camping. What a deal!! That is until you realize that cell phone service does not exist no matter what carrier you are on. I had to connect up to the park’s wifi to get to the internet to be able to get my email. We had a good site up front, but they had a little road noise, but it wasn’t too bad. We stayed around the park and Sue did some more painting.
Tuesday – A little more of the same as yesterday, but we did go into town to do some grocery shopping and make some phone calls. We also met our friends Murray and Donna for lunch.
Wednesday – Sue finished the sign she was painting for the Murray and Donna, so we drove over to visit them at Spruce Lake RV and play some card games and deliver the sign. They loved her sign!! I think Donna won the game this night again! Way to go Donna!
Thursday – We left Estes Park and headed to the Terry Bison RV Ranch just over the border in Wyoming to meet up with Alan and Rita. They got there yesterday and had reserved a spot for us since we didn’t have any cell service to make our reservations. Our rear air conditioner had tripped the breaker yesterday, so it looks like we are going to have to get another air conditioner. Now this is the same air conditioner that I changed the fan on the beginning of August. Not good! We also had leaky drain hose under the sink. It looks like a glued fitting came loose from the drain hose. So Alan and I made a trip to Home Depot to get parts to repair it, meanwhile we dropped Sue and Rita off at Hobby Lobby to get some more of their craft supplies. We got back to the motorhome and I fixed the leaking drain hose.
Friday – Alan had an appointment in Loveland, CO today to have one of his air conditioners looked at, apparently it had a frozen compressor. This is the 2nd one that has quit on his 5 month old motorhome. It seems that Coleman has had a bad batch of air conditioner compressors and they have been freezing up. At least his was under warranty, while mine was not. We followed them to Loveland to have the same RV repair company look at ours. Of course, it is bad, so they ordered us a new one and they will install it next Monday, the 14th when they install Alan’s air conditioner. We both drove our motorhomes back up to Terry Bison RV ranch for the Labor Day weekend.
Saturday – We drove into Cheyenne again, but this time to go out to eat. We chose a Mexican restaurant that was very good. Hacienda Guadalajara was the name of it. I had the seafood quesadilla that had crab, shrimp and scallops. It was very good and a very large portion. I brought half of it back to the motorhome to eat tomorrow. I also supervised Alan on the installation of his new water softener when we got back.
Sunday – Today Alan and Rita went on the horse back ride here at the RV park. It was an hour long ride and Alan said it was pretty lame. Rita said her behind was hurting, so she was walking kind of funny. Rita took the tour of the bison herd and the other exotic animals they have here later in the afternoon. She said that was real good and they got to hand feed the bison from the pickup truck. We then went to the Senator’s Steakhouse here at the RV park and had supper. Sue and I split a bison burger, while Rita ate one all by herself. Alan had the shrimp po-by sandwich. It was pretty good and the bison burger was very lean.
Tomorrow we are going to head back up to Estes Park to spend another week up there. We need to stay around Loveland and wait for our air conditioner to come in, so that seemed like a nice COOL place to stay!
Sue took a few pictures, but she can’t find the camera chip so I can download them. Well maybe next week!
Until next time!
